Lougeays in Costa Rica 2009

We will be going to Costa Rica for a month this summer. We are renting a house in Manuel Antonio which is on the Pacific Central/South end of the country. Our goal is to simply experience the country and it's culture, not doing quite as much sight-seeing as a normal vacation. We do plan to tak at least one or two over-night excursions away from our house to check out other parts of the country...volcanos, etc.

Day 2 - Getting Aquainted

The past couple days we were getting used to being in another country. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera to the market, because there were some good photo ops. After the cashier rings you up you need to pack it into your own cart and pay. Then you need to take your cart to a side counter and RE-pack everything into cardboard boxes. The kids were pretty amazed and we looked slightly out of place with a party of 5 Americans shopping...one on crutches. Katie wrote in her journal that "shopping in other countries is WEIRD!". We also spent a lot of time in the pool. The kids have had a great time creating different jumps from the jucuzzi to the pool.
